"[All of] this is an exercise in fictional science, or science fiction, if you like that better. Not for amusement: science fiction in the service of science. Or just science, if you agree that fiction is a part of it, always was, and always will be as long as our brains are only minuscule fragments of the universe, much too small to hold all the facts of the world but not too idle to speculate about them."

Who am I?

Picture
I am a curious research scientist, working on topics in 3D vision, computational geometry, generative models, remote sensing, and deep learning. I earned my Ph.D.  from Department of Computer Science at Purdue University, working under supervision of Daniel Aliaga. Then I joined Facebook as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist to work with Ramesh Raskar. After some groundbreaking projects, I left to pursue a startup path, which ended with an acquisition. Which led me to find my research heaven in the world's largest volumetric capture stage at Intel Studios. You can reach my publications, projects, talks, and several other resources from the tabs at the top of the page.

I got my B.S. degree in Computer Engineering with a minor in Electrics and Electronics Engineering from Middle East Technical University (METU), Turkey. I also did an internship at Pixar Animation Studios, for which I will always stay as a Pixarian by heart.
